Chapter 70 GENERAL PROVISIONS

For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.

DOWNTOWN COMMERCIAL ZONE. The Commercial “C” Zone, as defined within the city’s land use ordinances and as shown on Attachment A (attached to the ordinance codified herein), excepting that portion of 10th Street between U.S. Highway 101 and Tohls Street.

HIGHWAY. All areas within the right-of-way of State Highway 101.

MINOR. Any individual under the age of 18.

RIDING. The act of propelling a skateboard, roller blade or scooter by means other than carrying it.

SIDEWALK. Any paved walkway designed for pedestrian use.

SKATEBOARD. Any device with wheels attached to a surface, such surface being designed such that a person or persons may stand, sit or kneel upon it; and is propelled by foot or other mechanical means. SKATEBOARDS shall include, but not be limited to, roller skates and blades, non-motorized scooters, coasters, roller skis or any other similar device.

STREET. Any thoroughfare, other than a highway, including any alley.

SUPERVISOR. The parent, legal guardian or person with legal responsibility for the safety and welfare of a minor. (Ord. 2010-05, passed 11/8/2010)
